Construction of new natural gas main line
with parallel conduit pipe route for 110 kV
The Salzburg Netz GmbH is building a new main gas pipeline from the Salzburg region to Tyrol in order to ensure a stable energy supply with natural gas and, in the future, with biogas and hydrogen. In the Oberalm-Puch-Hallein construction section, a 3-core protective conduit route for 110 kV cables will be laid in parallel in order to ensure efficient utilisation of the construction capacities. This 15.5 km underground cable route is intended to increase the supply capacity of electrical energy and create the possibility of partially dismantling overhead lines. EMDS protective pipes from Gerodur were used for the protective pipelines, which in the PE-HD+ basic performance class guarantee economical installation under the prevailing stresses. Gerodur's technical field service provided support for the construction project right from the planning stage, so that in addition to the pipe material, project-specific spacers and special moulded parts such as bends in various radii were available to minimise installation costs.
