Laying of new piping systems for the drainage of rainwater and wastewater

New residential development is planned on the formerly commercially used open spaces in the Düsseldorf districts of Oberkassel and Heerdt. The previous drainage system for wastewater and rainwater was a combined system. As part of comprehensive environmental and water protection measures, these districts will be drained in the future using a separate system.
For this purpose, a rainwater clarification and retention basin will be constructed on the edge of Simon-Gatzweiler-Platz to relieve the left bank of the Rhine canal system. In order not to obstruct traffic in this busy zone, it was decided to lay the incoming sewage pressure pipes using the HDD method. In order to meet the project-specific requirements (required tensile forces, depth and damage potential of the bore channel), a GEROfit^® R wastewater pressure pipe made of PE100-RC with a highly crack-resistant and penetration-resistant outer PP protective jacket was used.
