The Lauenburg Wastewater Association is responsible for sewage disposal in its six member municipalities of Aumühle, Börnsen, Escheburg, Kröppelshagen-Fahrendorf, Wentorf bei Hamburg and Wohltorf. Over a length of approx. 1.4 km, the wastewater association is renewing the wastewater pressure pipeline built in the 1970s from the "Billeweg" pumping station in Aumühle to the discharge into the gravity sewer in Haidrath.
The pipeline will essentially be constructed without trenches by drilling underground boreholes, usually each around 170 metres long. The connections between the drilled sections are made in "head holes" dug for this purpose. In further sections, pipes are pulled into the existing pipeline using the so-called "burst lining method". This process minimises the environmental impact and significantly reduces execution times. The GEROfit-R^® sewage pressure pipe is a PE100-RC pipe with high flexibility and stress crack resistance of the media-carrying core pipe and a highly crack-resistant protective jacket made of a modified polyolefin compound.
