The Special purpose water supply association Pirna /­ Sebnitz is continuing the comprehensive rehabilitation of the water supply in Neustadt and the neighbouring communities. In 2018, the main pipes and house connections at the Polenz branch will be renewed. In order to avoid costly earthworks and traffic restrictions, large sections of the route are being laid parallel to the existing old route using the HDD flush drilling method. Among other things, the busy Dresdner /­ Wilhelm-Kaulisch-Straße intersection, the bed of the river Polenz and the foundations of the Polenz bridge have to be crossed. The GEROfit^® pipe made by Gerodur with additive protective jacket, which is suitable for the HDD method, was used as a straight lenghts or coils.
