Renewal of the inner-city distribution network for drinking water supply
Long-term security for high drinking water quality with GEROfit^® REX

Innsbruck's most famous landmark, "das goldene Dach'l" ('the Golden Roof') shines in the heart of the old town. For over 500 years, the building has been enthroned between medieval houses and shady arcades and is one of Austria's tourist magnets. In the narrow alleys around the "Dachl", a comprehensive renovation of the inner-city infrastructure is taking place. Under the motto "Old Town New", the water network, which is up to 130 years old, is being completely renewed.
In order to ensure a permanent supply of high-quality drinking water and to exclude any risks of contamination through external influences, the Innsbruck municipal utility IKB decided to use GEROfit^® REX, a permeation-tight drinking water pipe system from Gerodur. By using the versatile GEROfit^® REX product range, the various project-specific connections, outlets and fittings were made permeation-tight and professionally.
