New PE pipeline using the HDD method

INEOS Phenol GmbH operates its own steel wastewater pipeline dating from the 1950s, which runs for the most part above ground from the plant site in Gladbeck-Zweckel to the Boye collector of the Emschergenossenschaft Gladbeck-Ellinghorst. This route, which runs parallel to the river Haarbach and a freight railway line, must now be dismantled due to its age and re-laid underground to clear the field. To ensure environmentally friendly operation for the discharge of the production wastewater, a diffusion-tight pipe made of PE 100-RC from GERODUR is used, the outer casing of which is customised in a light grey colour with the green stripes typical of protective casing pipes. The protective jacket also guarantees unrestricted use for the cost-saving installation method favoured by the planner: horizontal directional drilling.
