Development of "Am Schwanberg" new building area in Rödelsee

The municipality of Rödelsee in Lower Franconia is developing a new development area for family-friendly living on the Schwanberg. To ensure a permanent and stable supply of clean drinking water of the highest quality, the client and planners decided to use the GEROfit^® REX permeation-tight pipe system. In addition to the tried-and-tested PE100-RC pipes with bi-axially orientated polymer matrix film and metallic diffusion barrier as well as an additive protective jacket made of highly crack-resistant polyolefin compound, innovative system additions ensure that the entire pipe is permeation-tight right up to the building transition. By using these optimally matched moulded parts, the critical transitions and connections can be produced with reduced effort and in compliance with the system. In particular, the GEROfit^® REX tapping valve, developed in co-operation with the valve manufacturer Rehbein from Remscheid, can be installed quickly and safely without the need for the time-consuming re-wrapping required in the past. In addition, GEROfit^® REX PRO permeation-tight pipes with double pre-perforated protective jacket ends are also used. This means that the sheath cuts required to prepare heating element butt welds can be carried out with reduced effort and optimised dimensions. The employees of the Bayreuth installation company received intensive on-site support from the technical field service of the Rehbein-Gerodur cooperation during the installation of the GEROfit^® REX tapping fittings and GEROfit^® REX pipes and fittings and were familiarised with the advantages of the product system.
