With the infrastructural development in the south of Leipzig, another section of the BAB 72 is being completed.
The new construction of section 5.1 Borna-Rötha requires that, among other things, system components of the network of Städtische Werke Borna GmbH have to be rearranged in the construction area. One of these measures is to relocate the main energy supply as a medium-voltage system under the new motorway.
Due to the geostructural situation, it is not possible to lay the protective pipes in an open trench, so the route will be laid using a trenchless technology - the Horizontal Direction Drilling method (HDD).
Due to the high temperature load during the operation of the cable route, EMDS protective pipes in the high-performance class LHT^® from GERODUR are used, which are designed object-specifically (HDD-suitable) as protective jacket pipes.
