Central supply line to the new waterworks in Boxberg

With the construction of a new waterworks in Boxberg and a raw water pipeline from Lake Bärwalde, the independent supply of quality drinking water in the eight member communities of the Water Association is to be guaranteed for the future. The existing waterworks will continue to operate until the new plant is connected to the grid in spring 2021. For the raw water pipeline, an RCprotect^® drinking water pipe from Gerodur was laid in the trench over a length of approx. 2000 m using the open trench method. By realising the current water project, the future drinking water supply in the north of the district of Görlitz can be ensured and at the same time a contribution to regional structural development can be made.
