GEROfit® R Potable water pipe with the Berstlining method in Dresden
New installation of potable water pipe through existing pipeline

DREWAG Stadtwerke Dresden GmbH
Saxony's capital Dresden is renewing the municipal drinking water system piece by piece. The supply pipes, some of which date back to the 19th century and are made of cast iron or steel, are being d in sections with new, durable pipes made of polyethylene. After checking the existing pipe routing (obstacle-free old pipe strings and suitable cross-sectional availability), the new pipelines are pulled through the existing pipes using the burst lining method, whereby these are destroyed by an expanding ("bursting") head mounted in front of the pipe string and displaced into the surrounding soil. In order to exclude damage to the newly installed water pipe by "old pipe fragments" or stony sewer walls, GERODUR protective jacket pipes of the type GEROfit® R are used.
