Installation GEROfit^® NEXUS gas pressure pipe
using the resource-saving HDD method

As a long-standing partner and supplier of the Slovakian gas network operator SPP, Gerodur was commissioned to supply a locatable protective jacket pipe system. The gas pipeline is part of a rehabilitation program in Bratislava and was equipped with a dual detection tape between the core pipe and the protective jacket for test purposes. SPP would like to use the pipe to test the added value created by the subsequent locating capability and the transfer of the exact GPS positions into a digital cadastre. Particularly in the case of trenchless pipelines in urban areas, protective jacket pipes of the GEROfit^® NEXUS type offer the possibility of determining the exact positioning of the pipe in the case of subsequent crossings of this existing pipeline.
The construction project was intensively supervised on site by the technical staff of Gerodur. Thus, a comprehensive training and support of the pipe-jointing and post-wrapping work as well as a technological introduction regarding connection, control and signal evaluation of the GEROfit^® NEXUS system took place.
